"Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight."

 ― e.e. cummings

Since 2000, I've been helping individuals and couples become more engaged and present in their lives and relationships, and more hopeful and prepared for new possibilities.

When faced with difficult times and painful emotions, we have the opportunity either to learn something new, or to tighten up and shut down. Ideally, we can feel curious and safe enough to grow, explore the world, and enjoy our life and relationships.

But without sufficient support or a sense of security and self-worth, we often avoid new information, experiences, and interactions. When this happens, we can end up feeling lonely, lost, and stuck.

If this sounds familiar, I'm glad you are here.

I offer support, compassion, skills, and guidance for people struggling with depression, worry, the aftermath of trauma, relationship concerns, and life stress.

Rather than hiding from your important feelings and vulnerabilities, therapy provides a safe and nonjudgmental relationship in which we listen to and learn from your full range of feelings, allowing you to be more engaged and present in your life and relationships. I use a variety of psychotherapy approaches, and tailor the work to best suit you.

I work with couples who feel caught in frequent and frustrating loops of misunderstanding, hurt and disconnection, and who want to feel deeper trust and connection with one another.

I can help you both become more aware of your not-so-helpful cycles, improve your ability to understand and express your needs and longings, and rebuild a sense of safety and trust. I use couples therapy approaches that are well-researched and that focus on creating strong and loving bonds between partners.
